The Kaiserslautern sub-project is interested in the pedagogically oriented interaction with (digital) data in schools and the resulting question of data education as part of media education. We assume that this arises as a social practice in practice and is dependent on the context. Therefore, we empirically explore what role data play in professional/pedagogical practice in the school context and how they are understood as part of the educational mission of schools. Implicit in this is the question of professionalisation of pedagogical staff in the field of data education. Based on observation and questioning of pedagogical staff, school management (teams) and teachers, data education concepts will be developed and implemented in a participatory way on the basis of school data practices.
